Living in the moment

For the final project, I was inspired by the idea of the "simultaneous happening" when taking pictures while out on the town with friends. I just started taking pictures in the moment with the hope of capturing the feeling of being in that moment. But the longer I worked on this the more I realized I was just reacting to the world around me through the lense of my crappy digital camera. Then I realized people around me were just reacting to the camera and no longer living in the moment of which I was attempting to capture. Overall, I like the prints I made mostly because they make me think of the fun moments I had taking them over the term. But I liked thinking about the relationship between living in the moment and photography.

  When approaching this project I had a hard time figuring out how I wanted to look at space. I thought about lying on the floor and taking pictures under my desk, or climbing somewhere up high and taking a picture down. But then I decided to just take a photo walk and just take pictures of what I saw. Most of the pictures were either in Colman or at my job because it was way too cold for me to walk around campus looking for shots I barely left my room admittedly. As I was walking through City Park with all the snow it felt like a blank canvas with all of the white same with some of the cabinets I saw. 20 Objects and Space

  I started by looking at different small spaces which led me to take pictures in a drawer filled with these little animal figurines and a lighter so I thought first what if I put the lighter in the fireplace and take a photo.  Then I started taking photos of the little animal figurines looking at how their small sizes looked in different spaces around the house. 3 Random Objects

When I was thinking about what objects to pick for this project I struggled to pick something. I have a lot of random miscellaneous things littering my room I also even thought about going for a walk and picking up things off the ground that caught my eye. But I decided on 3 different projects that are all at different stages. Starting at the top left I had the idea to take pictures of Appleton with black and white Polaroid film but then none of the pictures came through which was really disappointing so now I have like 6 empty or smudgy photos just lying around my room. Then I started working on this denim sewing project but right now it's at an early stage of sketching and so I have like 4 pairs of jeans I've cut up to repurpose. So it is still early in development with a lot of potential.  Finally, I shot this roll of film over a couple months, and funny enough I have no idea what's on it at this point.
